Wednesday

2:00-4:00 - Simple useful knots and some theory - Timo Kiravuo. A hands on workshop on how to use rope to e.g. attach loads on the top of a car or on a trailer, secure a trash bag, rig structures like BM stuff and so on. Feel free to request anything, I have several decades of knotwork behind me. I am somewhat limited in what I can bring, so if you have your own rope material, bring it. Also if you want to learn splicing, an own rope is appreciated.

Thursday

3:30 - Math Makes Music - Tim Thompson. A talk and demo of various ways of using math to compose music. Algorithmic music in particular will be discussed and demonstrated. A highlight of the talk will be showing how several dozen people used pi (3.14159...) in different ways to compose music.
