Who is camping in Math Camp?

'Provide names of people, vehicle information, camping structure information, when you will arrive and leave, and any other information you think we be useful for a space czar! Thank you!

Nickell Family, Jesse Chirstine , Jesse Jr, and Oliver: A full size Sprinter van, Two small Tents, 10' X 10' pop up shade. Plan to Arrive Wednesday night and leave Monday.

William: Probably a full size van. 12'x12' tent. 10'x10' shade. Plan to arrive Monday afternoonish and depart following Monday. 3 Registered Mutant Vehicles: Cupcake, Treadmill & La-Z-Boy, but only two are likely to go.

Rolf Inhell: Will have a full-size pickup truck, a 10'x10' shade structure, and maybe a tent if I can find one that isn't made mostly of mesh.

Marianne and son Evan (21): will be attending with 2 "yurts" (about 10' diam) and one stationwagon with 4'x8' trailer and one muffin. Also solar array, about 5' x 20'.  I have mentioned that I may bring a few virgins - I will request an update from them and let y'all know asap.

Karyn and Kirstin: bringing car and tent.

Greg and Lisa: Toyota truck with small trailer plus a 15' yurt. Two Registered Cupcake Mutant Vehicles. Our plan is to arrive early and leave early this year.

Jim McGreen and Nancy Cadigan: We'll have our shade structure, "the Bucky", it is 14'x24'. We'll have a pick-up truck.

Otmar and Gwendolyn: Planning on being there all week, Monday to Monday. Bringing the stretch this year, (20' long VW camper) and the "Adult Trike" [1] as well.

Chris Tacklind & Kristi Elliott: Cameron and I will be driving up early to set up the Serpinski lecture hall. It is 30' on a side this year. It sports 3 upstairs rooms and an observation deck on the top. I'll set it up with the main door facing the street. The doors will be closeable to the street so that we can use it for other things too. We will drive up the old Ford truck with a trailer as before. Kristi will likely drive up late in her wagon. The Hyperbolic hut is only 8' square. Cam will probably stay upstairs in the lecture hall.

Cameron Tacklind, Daniel Fukuba & Friends: Danny and I will be bringing a few friends with us this year. I believe the current count is 3 extra. It's a little up in the air as to where they (we?) will be camping but the current plan is on the upper floors of the lecture hall. Danny and I have also talked about making our own insulated huts. But you know how us young adults are... everything is up in the air until the last minute.

Larry: Of the Group W camp, now living in Bellingham WA will be coming down this year in his white Toyota truck, probably coming solo this time.

Rob Geyer I'll have my Toyota Tacoma, the big tent, 2 10' x 20" carports and a 20' x 20' tarp to spread between them like we had 2 years ago. I have the Group W bar too.

Archives from 2007 follow for reference:

Kent Cumings  ??? Probably driving a full-size truck and sleeping in a tent.

Rob Geyer ??? Driving a mid-size Toyota pickup and sleeping in a mid-size dome tent.

Anders  ???

Richard Cossell  ??? Isn't there a rumor that he might show up late?

Josie & Tim Our new cabin tent (yay!) has a 12' by 9' footprint with some wires that need to be out a bit from there. We drive a Corolla and it would be great if it could be parked close to the tent. We are arriving late (Wednesday sometime, if memory serves) and leaving a bit early, in the middle of the night on Sunday. Therefore, a space where the car won't be blocked in would be best. We are Group W people but don't much care who we camp near, as we've liked every cupcake we've met also and are looking forward to meeting the rest of you. I'm most likely to hang out in the big public hospitality spaces (bar etc) and use the tent only for changing/dressing up and sleeping, which means I'd be perfectly happy to camp across the street with newbies. This is only our second year anyway! I actually like a quiet, non-central immediate vicinity for my tent.

Glenn Zaro & Maria With the limited space the camp has, Maria and I will be traveling light. I will have my Westfalia “Vanzilla” and a small 8x8 shade pop-up. We would like to get on the weekend arrival list and show up on Saturday. We will set up and stake out what we can and on Monday 12:01am land grab what we may need in adjoining areas.

Ed & Autumn We'll be staying in an ~8' x 8' tent. We'll be arriving in a Honda Civic with a trailer (probably 8' or 10'). Nearby access to the car would be nice, but isn't crucial. I'd like to be able to plug my vehicle into the grid for charging, but don't absolutely need the tent to be on the grid. The electric vehicle is approximately 8' x 5'.

Chris Houck Since I'll be working the weekend prior The Event driving to Iowa & back and won't be home until late Sunday night, I'll probably be up there Tuesday-ish and leaving Sunday night with my F-350 pickup truck with a 10 1/2 ft camper on it and a 8 foot utility trailer full of stuff, including a COSTCO style shade structure, chairs, my tool boxes, a 1937 army surplus gasoline powered generator (the Big Green generator), Richard's 1000watt yamaha generator, fuel, electrical cords and other related hardware, including the shower stall that we had last year. If Mothers health takes a downturn, I may not be able to make it this year.

Larry, Joye, Robert and Jackie: camping in a camper van and 2 extra tents. Larry (from the Seattle WA area) will be flying into Reno and catching a ride with 3 other Burners. We will arrive Monday about midnight and leave midnight, after the TEMPLE burns. We need enough space for a full size van, 2 tents and parking for my scooter and bike. A 5th person, Bobbie Kenna, will be dropping in and catching a ride to RNO airport right after the temple burn.

Merrilee, Keith, and Karydis: camping with VW camper with attached shade structure -- total footprint of 18' x 15'. We like to camp next to Will and his truck (or John and his truck, we're easy) to take advantage of the morning shade it provides. We will arrive early (departing the Bay Area Friday night, arriving Saturday) and leave on Monday. We'd like to go early specifically to help set up group stuff, like the shade structures. We have a trailer but don't need access to it during the week.

William & Sheila: probably a 14 foot box truck. Also have 10'x10' E-Z UP shade structure, 5'x5' shared shower structure, two cupcake cars, one la-z-boy recliner and set of 6 55watt solar panels. Arriving as early as possible (Sunday?-Monday?) and leaving on Monday. Sheila might be arriving separately.

John Behrens: John and Greg are discussing going in together on a second 14'-15' box truck to haul more bunny slipper and muffiny goodness. Ideally if this happens, the two would be parked parallel to each other about 10 feet apart, then a tarp run over the tops to provide a large shade area.

Janett, Tony, Christopher and Will: Van and small trailer. Camping in a tent aaprox. 12' x 9'. Also have a 10 x 10 E-Z Up (better known as the "pink" palace this year) which we would like to put along the road this time, so we can sip pink cocktails and watch the passers-by. We will arrive to help build the camp on Saturday (if we get permission) and leave really early (2:00 a.m. possibly) the Monday after the burn. We need to be able to get our van out on early Thursday morning to go pick up our son that is flying in from Hawaii. His friend Will will be joining us as well and staying with us.

Marianne, Evan and Toby: 3 yurt-like structures (10 foot diameter) plus a 10 x 10 E-Z Up and 3 cupcakes. We will bring a 1 KW photovoltaic array to use as our advertised EV-charging service for the event. Array dimensions 5' by 16'. Second array for muffin charging use: about 12' x 5'. Preferably to be located in a sunny, S-facing, accessible but safe location. 2 cars and a small trailer - none of which we will need access to. We will also have 2 or 3 other teens with us. Hopefully a partial crew arriving on Monday and departing Sunday night.

Greg and Lisa: Toyota truck with small trailer plus a 15' yurt. We'd really like to bring the Bunny Slippers this year but are not willing to leave the Muffins or Couch behind. Not sure how all this will all happen, but maybe there will be some additional truck-like thing to help out with Marianne too. The Toyota carries about 600W of solar panels and a Outback charge controller. Arriving not before Monday, leaving Monday.

Chris Tacklind and Kristi Elliot: I'm not sure if I'll bring more laser toys this year (see http://www.instructables.com/id/E33U0LOF22U9ZHY/) but we we will bring the 2 kWatt Honda generator, a 12 foot square living structure ( http://burningman.tacklind.com/12%20foot%20hyperbolic%20house.jpg ) and the very large community mini center camp (http://burningman.tacklind.com/hyperbolic%20mini%20center%20camp%20tent.jpg). I'm still hoping to make a pair of muffins too using a general purpose power pods ( http://burningman.tacklind.com/power%20pod%201d.jpg ). We plan on getting there early and staying for the whole experience. We'll be bringing the truck and possibly a trailer borrowed from the TechShop.

Matt, Meredith, Jana and Lee. (plus 4 more) We'll be arriving sometime Monday and leaving after Temple Burn Sunday night/Monday morning.

Matt & Meredith's Carport Cavern is going to need a 35' x 35'-40' section for everything. The shade structure is about 21x21 and the 2 cars with trailer are 7'x30' each. Not everyone will be able to camp under the shade structure so we will need space for a few tents outside it and we will need to park the cars and trailers next to the shade structure. Everything should fit in a 35' x 35'-40' area. Also, we'd really like to be near the street to enjoy some people watching, but set back about 10' if possible so we don't have people accitentally running into us from the road. Ofcourse we don't want to get in the way of any of the public structures (group W's bar, mathcamp, the EV charging station, etc.) so if there is no room near the street for us we'd be ok behind Group W, or across the street if necessary. We will have a honda generator with us. We're happy to put it with the rest of the generators in the Genny Villiage to cut down on the noise. I have a really long security cable we can use to lock down all the generators and secure them to a vehicle.

Susan Drews Watkins and Susan Welch: We'll arrive early Monday morning and leave on Monday. We will drive a cargo van and camp with a 10x14 tent. I have a large rug to contribute to community shade space (the one I brought last year 12x20ish with plastic backing) --if needed.

Bruno fevrier: he'll arrive monday evening whith a wv wesphalia

Amy and sebastien: we'll arrive thursday early afternoon with a pickup truck and a 10 x 15 tent and plenty of free time , not than i plan to do anything

Bob Schneeveis and Richard Hatfield: Change of plan! Not coming. bummer.

Otmar Ebenhoech: Bringing Jill, a friend from Corvallis for her first burn. Planning on being there all week, Monday to Monday. Bringing the stretch this year, (20' long VW camper) and hopefully the "Adult Trike" [2] as well. I'll intend to bring the portable freezer with popsicles in case someone needs frozen food (send me your requests for Hagen Daaz flavors). I'll need some vehicular access for the trike as it is as wide as a car, but that can be in a common Mutant Vehicle parking area. I have a 26 foot long step van that is available for use, but being up here in Oregon it probably does not help much for transporting the sofa, bunnies and cupcakes unless someone wants to drive it down to California first. It is slow and noisy. Also, I have the seven foot slide rule and will be bringing it along for camp. :) -Otmar

Petri and Jaana Wessman, Joonas Iivonen, Timo Kiravuo - flying in from Finland, renting minivan/SUV from San Francisco. We'll need space for our shade structure (which needs a circular space approx 30ft in diameter), three tents (7' domes) plus room to park the car. We're staying all week, Monday to Monday. Some pictures of the shade in testing can be found here, it's based on ideas from these guys.

Rolf Thompson I'll probably be arriving on Monday, August 25th. 2008.  :~(

Jim McGreen and Nancy Cadigan: We plan on arriving early Monday & staying through 9/3 or 9/4. We'll have our shade structure, "the Bucky", it is 14'x24'. We'll have a pick-up truck.

Tina Martin: going Monday to Monday (?) Probably tagging along with Greg and Lisa so whenever they're there I'll be there too! Also I drive a beatle (coming from San Diego) so I do not have a lot of space for things and I dont know how big my tent will be or what I will be using for shade. Sorry I dont have that much info yet... =/

Daymion and Rhiannon Reynolds: Arriving from Phoenix early Monday via Element, more than likely using two tents one of 12' diameter and one a mite elliptical 10'x14'. All measurements approximate and given in Rhiannoncomprehension of size, exact to come when she actually finds tags on them that give real measurements. Leaving Sunday for unfortunate need to be back at work Tuesday.

KO: Hoping to arrive Monday am or whenever, til next monday, or ride home. Seeking transportation from East Bay SF area, will bring 12'diameter structure.

Claudine & Paul Ozzello (AKA Ferrari Sugarpants & Packlet) Arriving Monday noon-ish, leaving Monday afternoon-ish. The usual full sized van with attached shade structure and small trailer, 16ft diameter Yurt and possibly a small storage tent. Damyion & Rhiannon (from Phoenix) and Autumn & Ed (from Redding) are joining us this year.

Tim Thompson (aka Other Tim) Arriving from San Jose on Sunday to be in line at 12:01am Monday. Leaving Sunday/Monday, not sure. Plan to have same 32' 5th wheel + truck I had last year, so taking into account a shade structure attached to the RV, probably need 40' x 16'. At least one other person will be coming with me, and perhaps another later in the week, so space for an adjoining tent or two may be needed. I'll plan on being in and helping to stake out space in the across-the-street area (the RV+truck makes a very good border). I have a small Honda generator and the RV has a generator. I have a 5'x3' whiteboard which I'll set up in the main community area for Math Camp people to draw/write on.

Craig Harmer Hoping to arrive Monday (early), with a pickup-truck sized vehicle and a 16 foot hexagon army tent. The tent is roughly a 16 foot diameter circle plus tent lines, which add another 6 feet on each side, or 28 foot diameter. But the tent lines can coexist with smaller tents nearby.

Arthur Hebert Will be bringing a friend -- still waiting to see who can make it. I will be driving a small pickup truck, and probably sleeping in the back of it. I am still making plans, so I don't yet know the day I will arrive. It depends on my guest and my work schedule. I will up date soon. Woohooo!

Steve Hoffman and my friend from Hawaii, ShaLene We are both new to the camp and new to burning man. We will be arriving Monday sometime near dusk, and leaving sometime after the burn - don't know yet. We are coming in a sedan and have a polydome shade structure 14' x 14' with a tent that goes inside the dome. There are some lines outside the perimeter that can co-exist with other rigging.

Julian and Tarja. We'll be arriving on Friday morning with a mid-size SUV and will be sleeping in a dome tent. We'll leave on Monday or Tuesday.
