Music system for the bar
We don't need anything fancy or loud, but it would be nice to have some background music in the bar area. Ideally this would be something that has an auxiliary input so we can use an external source like an MP3 player. I do have an extra cassette adapter that could be used for that purpose, but it's not in great shape, and I don't know if it will last a week in the dust.
If anyone has an old boombox or receiver and speakers that they wouldn't mind donating to the camp, please let me know.

Good Food at Burning Man
Surviving on Power Bars and bottled water is for savages, so I thought it might be good to start a list of playa-friendly foods to help people plan meals for Burning Man. Please edit this list with your favorite playa food and recipes. Add your name to the end of each posting so people can contact you if they have questions.
Trader Joe's Fresh Pizza Trader Joes has a few small, fresh pizzas in the deli area of the cold case. I'm partial to the Chicken and Artichoke and Portabella and Garlic ones myself. These cook in about six minutes on a medium-hot gas grill with the lid closed. I put a triple layer of aluminum foil under the pizza to keep the crust from getting to crispy/burned. I haven't tested this on a Weber gas grill like we use in camp, so play with the timing a bit if you go for these pizzas. There's nothing worse than getting your taste buds ready for pizza and then burning it to a crisp with no way to replace it. The pizzas can be transported fresh or frozen, but watch the expiration dates because they're only good for a few days. Either way it would be a good idea to pack them in gallon size ziplock bags to avoid cooler water contamination. Soggy pizza is no fun. - Rolf
Taylor's Sausage For those in the East Bay, I highly recommend Taylor's Sausage company in the Oakland Housewive's Marketplace. They make great sausage and most of their fresh sausage is less than $4.00 a pound. Their Cajun Chicken Sausage is great stuff, and comes in regular and spicy varieties. It's made by hand, so the spicy version sometimes comes out very spicy. It comes raw, but can be pre-cooked at home and heated up when you get to BM. They also have a great bulk pork sausage that makes really, really good burgers. I mix in some chopped garlic and onion, and preform the patties at home so I don't get messy without a decent sink nearby. If you freeze the patties before you go they should stay good until Thursday or Friday with no problem, maybe longer if you have a FoodSaver type packing system. Taylor's also has a nice selection of smoked sausages that would transport and keep better than the fresh sausage. - Rolf
kiravuo's food plan: Breakfast, snack/lunch and dinner
Have a good breakfast, like bacon, eggs or pancakes. Look for the "just add water" pancake mixes, follow the instructions and flip them over when the bubbles start to break. Don't forget the syrup. Bacon and eggs keep well in a cooler, but don't last in the heat like the dry stuff (e.g. pancake mix). Morning is defined as "when it is too hot to sleep inside the tent".
Lunch is beer, soft drinks and snacks. It'll be too hot to eat anything serious. One recommended lunch course is quesodilla: take a tortilla (corn or flour), fill half of it with anything and cheese, fold over, fry without oil on both sides and enjoy. The "anything" can be canned stuff (e.g. tuna), cold cuts (ham), additional jalapenos etc. Chips or crackers w/ aerosol cheese are an alternative, too.
We had dinner last time just before sunset, it was cool enough to eat and to stock up for wandering around. Janka enforced canned chili w/ nachos for the rest of us and it was good. I don't remember what else we had, most likely something canned, as there are tons of canned foods available (besides spam as "Well, there's spam egg sausage and spam, that's not got much spam in it.")
Basically the cooking at BM should not be a problem. We are going in by car so weight is not a problem and as ice is available you can treat your cooler as a fridge with a week's amount of supplies. Dry and canned stuff has no problem with heat within one week.
Salt and liquids are a good idea, if you are sucking beer during the day, try drink soft drinks between the beers. Chips have plenty of salt and go fine w/ drinks. Jerky might be a good idea too, if you like it.
I am also bringing and sharing a 10" camping oven for things like brownies and pizza. See: http://www.rei.com/product/653555 for more detailed description.

Lists of stuff can go here
Otmar I have a 2KW Honda generator that I can bring and share if it's wanted. I'd sure rather hear it run than a noisy one since it is very quiet. I suspect I'll have all the power I need with solar panels so will only bring it on request. I have a small freezer that I will bring. I was planning to fill it up with popsicles to share, but let me know if you have a special request. If I have time I may mount it on the Trike [6] and give out popsicles while roaming the deep playa. I am bringing the 7 foot teachers slide rule that Will found on craigslist. It is at the plastic shop having a new slider made. It's on my list to bring a extension cord with 50A Andersons to extend the solar charging area reach. I probably have excess capacity in the stretch if someone wants me to bring extra 10 Gals of water or some such. I'll bring Stoli Vodka. I have a extra home stero amp I could bring for the bar if nothing better turns up. It's a Kenwood KA-60 and need AC power and has no tuner. Speakers I may have small ones, but would require digging to find.
Rolf's Camp Kitchen If anyone wants to transport and return my camp kitchen box, please let me know. The kitchen box includes pots, pans, utensils, paper plates, paper towels and a dwindling supply of plastic silverware. There's a two-burner Coleman stove available also, but you'll have to supply your own propane cannisters. The table that used to hold up the camp kitchen died, but I saved the folding legs if anyone wants to make a new table.
Shade Structures and Bar Need a Ride I was going to transport two of the Costco carport type shade structures, but since I'm not going, they'll need to ride up with someone else. The earlier in the week that these can be transported the better. These are fairly large and awkward to haul, but not terribly heavy for their size. One carport is in my backyard in Bay Point, the other is at the warehouse in Berkeley. These will make up 2/3 of the Group W Bar / Math Camp space. The bar will be unassembled. It will be a fairly small package put it will be heavy. -Posted by Rolf
